Brief
This £280k maintenance scheme required a selection of works to be undertaken within a live school environment. These included, retaining wall reinstatement to one elevation, including ground anchor supports, to stabilise the existing/remaining section of wall. Replacement of 20 main building windows, including internal ‘making good’. Cleaning and relining of main building gutters, including the install of a man safe system. New high level fence to the playground and overlay of playground tarmac to failed areas (circa 700m2). Refurbishment of two external shelters including new roof coverings, fascias, rainwater goods and internal decorations. Plus various brick/block work repairs.

Solution and Results
This was a complex scheme, on a school that had highly restricted machine access due to the complex levels of the site. The works were split over both term, and non-term time, which meant carrying out some works after 3.30pm and during weekends.

The retaining wall, shelters, and playground works were all carried out in term time, in a live school environment with close daily liaison with the schools representatives. This scheme delivered both on time and on budget, and was well received by both the school and the client team.
